Senior DevOps Engineer
Description
The incumbent will work as an experienced member of the technology team to manage an infrastructure that processes numerous transactions per month. The incumbent will also work with other engineering and operations team members to design, develop, maintain, and optimize OxPay's production, QA, and development infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain the Development, Test, and Production environments using AWS Cloud services
- Ensure infrastructure, processes, policies and procedures are aligned with and in compliance with regulatory requirements (PCI-DSS, MAS TRM etc.)
- Ensure the security and integrity of OxPay’s cloud services
- Ensure all design, architecture, deployment and processes are documented
- Deploy services with a high-availability design and production-monitoring metrics to meet SLA
- Implement cloud services with automated scaling, minimizing TCO and maximizing utilization
- Implement cloud-based disaster recovery
- Improve Continuous Integration (CI) & work with development on Continuous Deployment (CD)
- Provide on-call support for production alert notifications and escalations
- Consulting with management on the operational requirements of software solutions
- Contributing expertise on information system options, risk, and operational impact
- Mentoring junior software developers in gaining experience and assuming DevOps responsibilities
- Collaborating with developers on software requirements, as well as interpreting test stage data
- Completing code and script updates, as well as resolving product implementation errors
- Overseeing routine maintenance procedures and performing diagnostic tests
- Continuously keep up with new technologies, AWS services, best practices in cyber security
Requirements
- 4+ years of DevOps and IT-related experience
- Tertiary degree in software engineering, computer science, information technology, information systems, or similar
- Experience with major AWS services - account management, control tower, VPC, EC2, RDS, API gateway, Lambda, ECR, ECS, elastic beanstalk, WAF, full range of code* services, SQS, SES, SNS, full range of security and compliance services, AWS landing zone, well architected framework
- Experience Linux/Windows EC2 administration – installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting system/application issues
- Experience in using Python and other scripting tools for automating tasks
- Experience in Postgres as well as MySQL, MSSQL databases administration
- Data Retention and Backup Administration
- Experience in configurations and maintenance of web servers (Nginx, Apache), and application servers (Java Spring, Python Django)
- Experience in application deployment using git, and other CI/CD tools
- Experience with open source-based servers configurations and management
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, and other containerization technologies
- Understand the concept of GitOps, Infrastructure-as-code
Skills
- Excellent English communication skills
- Certified AWS DevOps Engineer is a plus
- Good data analysis skills
- Well-organized and have multitasking and prioritization skills
- Strong team player who has good understanding of prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge with Google Workspace tools, Google Cloud
