Business Operation and Risk Lead
Description

The incumbent will be primarily responsible for ensuring that the company is onboarding customers in full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The incumbent must also review and control the company's exposure to potential risk and fraud activities.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Head of Compliance to develop, implement and operationalize compliance, risk, and fraud management activities.
  • Work closely with the sales team to conduct KYC / AML / Registration Policy requirements on customers/entities to ensure all procedures are followed.
  • Work closely with the operation team to ensure smooth onboarding of new customers once the assessments are completed and ready to proceed to the next step.
  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure that risk and fraud in payment, settlement and other risk control measures are operational.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure your areas of responsibility are functioning effectively.
  • Work closely with external stakeholders such as regulators, law enforcement, auditors, and compliance team of partners or customers to manage risks internal and external to the company.
  • Advise sales and other business units on existing and upcoming regulatory requirements.
  • Keep up to date with the broader industry developments and those related to risk, KYC, AML, and fraud.
  • Lead team members to perform effectively; plan and distribute work as required.
Qualifications
  • Proven comprehensive hands-on industrial experiences and in-depth knowledge in:
    • Risk management of eCommerce and physical merchants for credit/debit and alternative payment acceptance
    • Liaising and dealing with law enforcers, regulators, and card schemes’ risk management
  • Understanding of technology, commercial needs/models, and risk trends/rules/regulations in the industry
  • Great judgment in preventing and minimizing losses to the company
  • Great team player with good leadership
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other stakeholders, including those without in-depth payment knowledge
  • Critical thinker and problem solver who could work well when a situation turns stressful
  • Responsible and accountable employee who will conduct professionally
  • Fast learner and preferably educated to tertiary level
